Jaguar met un point d’honneur \u00e0 ne proposer que des mod\u00e8les fiables. C’est pour cela que la marque investie chaque ann\u00e9e 13 millions de livres dans des logiciels et \u00e9quipements d’ing\u00e9nierie assist\u00e9e par ordinateur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le but \u00e9tant d’am\u00e9liorer les d\u00e9lais de conception et la pr\u00e9cision des composants, puis de les tester et les optimiser sur des millions de kilom\u00e8tres virtuels avant m\u00eame de les cr\u00e9er. Cette \u00e9tape nous aide \u00e0 \u00e9conomiser plus de 1,2 million de kilom\u00e8tres sur route et 290 tonnes de CO2<\/sub> pendant la cr\u00e9ation d’un mod\u00e8le.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est pour cela que chaque nouvelle bo\u00eete de vitesses cr\u00e9\u00e9e est test\u00e9e pendant 12 semaines d’affil\u00e9e sur une plateforme statique situ\u00e9e dans nos laboratoires de haute technologie, qui simule un cycle de vie de 10 ans et 240 000 kilom\u00e8tres en une fraction de temps. Cela permet de tester la fiabilit\u00e9 Jaguar en conditions r\u00e9elles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est \u00e9galement pour cela que nous emmenons les voitures dans les for\u00eats gel\u00e9es du nord de la Su\u00e8de \u00e0 -40 \u00b0C, dans les d\u00e9serts de l’Arizona et de Duba\u00ef \u00e0 +50 \u00b0C et sur le circuit \u00e0 grande vitesse de Nard\u00f2, en Italie. Le tout avant de les propulser sur 8 000 kilom\u00e8tres sur la fameuse boucle Nord du N\u00fcrburgring, en Allemagne. Cela nous permet de v\u00e9rifier si la technologie fonctionne aussi bien en situation r\u00e9elle, avant de lui accorder notre cr\u00e9dit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Une fois qu’une Jaguar est finalement construite, le vilebrequin du moteur Ingenium est poli jusqu’\u00e0 une tol\u00e9rance de 0,003 mm (6 % de l’\u00e9paisseur d’un cheveu humain), afin de produire un rendement incroyable pouvant atteindre 3,8 l\/100 km (75 mpg) et des \u00e9missions de CO2<\/sub> de 99 g\/km seulement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Des lasers et des cam\u00e9ras perfectionn\u00e9s effectuent un contr\u00f4le qualit\u00e9 de 168 points sur chaque ch\u00e2ssis et v\u00e9rifient les interstices des panneaux avec une pr\u00e9cision de +\/-0,5 mm, avant le test final de la mousson, o\u00f9 6 000 litres d’eau sont d\u00e9vers\u00e9s sur le ch\u00e2ssis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Concr\u00e8tement, ce souci du d\u00e9tail veut dire que chaque voiture est sans cesse examin\u00e9e tout au long de son parcours dans l’usine. Chaque Jaguar soumise \u00e0 des milliers de mesures de pr\u00e9cision et de contr\u00f4les qualit\u00e9 entre la feuille d’aluminium initiale et le moment o\u00f9 elle quitte la ligne d’assemblage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Il est rare que la voiture produite au terme de ce processus ne soit pas parfaite mais, quand c’est le cas, nous travaillons jusqu’\u00e0 ce que le probl\u00e8me soit r\u00e9solu et que le v\u00e9hicule soit v\u00e9rifi\u00e9, re-v\u00e9rifi\u00e9 et jug\u00e9 parfait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La technologie utilis\u00e9e pour construire nos carrosseries en aluminium de haute qualit\u00e9, inspir\u00e9e du secteur a\u00e9rospatial, ne se limite pas \u00e0 r\u00e9duire le poids des ch\u00e2ssis de 400 kg et \u00e0 accro\u00eetre leur rigidit\u00e9 par rapport \u00e0 leurs pr\u00e9d\u00e9cesseurs, elle vise aussi \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer le rendement \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique, \u00e0 r\u00e9duire les \u00e9missions polluantes et \u00e0 am\u00e9liorer la tenue de route dynamique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elle cr\u00e9e \u00e9galement des ch\u00e2ssis nettement plus robustes, mieux con\u00e7us et \u00e9quip\u00e9s de meilleures caract\u00e9ristiques de s\u00e9curit\u00e9, pour une protection accrue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ces conceptions sont ensuite mises \u00e0 l’\u00e9preuve en situation r\u00e9elle. Nous d\u00e9molissons environ 60 ch\u00e2ssis dans une s\u00e9rie de 80 crash tests, dont certains poussent la voiture \u00e0 d\u00e9gager une \u00e9nergie cin\u00e9tique de 100 MW au cours des 40 millisecondes d’un impact afin de garantir avec la plus grande exactitude les performances requises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En un clin d’\u0153il, les pare-chocs et la structure sont d\u00e9form\u00e9s et \u00e9loignent le moteur de la collision dans un espace pr\u00e9vu \u00e0 cet effet. \u00c0 l’int\u00e9rieur de la voiture, les airbags et les pr\u00e9tensionneurs de ceinture de s\u00e9curit\u00e9 se d\u00e9clenchent 15 millisecondes seulement apr\u00e8s l’impact, ce qui limite le choc pour les occupants du v\u00e9hicule. Finalement, une fois que la voiture s’immobilise, sa pompe \u00e0 carburant s’\u00e9teint automatiquement, les feux de signalisation se d\u00e9clenchent et les portes se d\u00e9verrouillent afin de faciliter la sortie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
